The Sailor’s Dream App Reviews

A Heartfelt Experience

If you understand that what you are getting is an interactive story/experience and are still interested, I whole-heartedly recommend this. "Gameplay" consists of swiping in order to more or less explore areas and find clues to what happened between characters, etc. The music is great, and some of the story is even told through song. Although fairly unconventional--and it certainly wont be everyones cup of tea--you can definitely feel the heart and effort that was put into this unique audio/visual experience.

Be patient

This story takes a week to unfold and its just reading, thats why I gave it four stars because it was nothing like the year walk or device 6 but so far the story is really good. I do honestly enjoy this story (honestly shouldnt be called a game) but I honestly dont know if the price is right or if it should have a price at all but if you like the style of games its still worth a try. Just be patient. Really patient.

ONE STAR

They deleted my review so this is what Im doing now. Dont buy this. Its not worth the money and its really stupid. You dont do anything and the singer is terrible. Trust me youll regret everything about this app. It also takes up too much space on your phone. It takes too long and I dont have time to wait around every hour right on the mark to get a clue in it. Money thrown out the window.

Please do not overlook this game

I know how easy it is judge this game. There is very little interactivity, and to get the full experience you need to spend some time with it. But this does not mean the game is not worth it. If you are at all interested in emotional games, please, stick with this game. Fans of Journey, The Unfinished Swan, and Flower should experience this!

Not worth it

I was hoping for something more interesting. I was disappointed with how boring the overall experience was. It was a waste of money.

I finished the game, finally.

I have to amend my previous review. I said that there was likely no way to help those who didnt like this game. Having played it through, I can say that those who dont like this game probably have their reasons. This is a wholly unique game. There is nothing like it. I have never played a game that relies on the passage of real time rather than meeting objectives. Certain parts of the game are time-sensitive, not achievement-based. You have to either wait for the passage of time or manipulate time in order to pass to the next chapter. I can understand why some would get frustrated with that. Patience is not a common demand in video games. However, the story is quite poignant. The atmosphere and visuals are beautiful. The songs are pretty and even meaningful to the game. I still give this game 5 stars. I know there will be many 1 star reviews, as well. In my way of thinking, that dichotomy is something the developers should wear as a badge of honor.

Wonderful!

So touching that made me cry, smile and sigh for hours... Really amazing!

Worth every cent.

Again simogo delivers a fantastic experience. Love all your stuff. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful

A lovely, relaxing adventure. Works wonderfully on my iPad and iPhone 6.

An Open-Minded Experience

Simogo continues to innovate and charm with another fantastic experience that respects your intelligence and doesnt hold your hand. While a only a few hours in length, I wouldnt have traded it for anything else. It is unlike anything else, and a breathtaking experience. I look forward to your next Game, Sim o Go!

Ho hum

Not a bad trip ,but felt a little let down when I realized theres nothing to figure out besides the story which unfolds itself. Pulls on the heart strings though.

Is this a joke?

See above

Not quite..

This app is not what I expected. I was hoping for more of a "game" than a story. Regardless of that, the app was charming and still brought me some level of excitement.

Not Simogos Best

Not Simogos best, but better than most out there. Fantastic artwork and music as per usual.

Confusing / Unexpected / Disappointed

I loved Device 6 and Year Walk so maybe I assumed too much about what the game would be like. Its not a game but more like an interactive novel, which is nice if you want to enjoy a story, great art and an immersive atmosphere but its "not a game" and the actions/interactions are very confusing with no choices to be made. Its basically follow along and get what you can out of it. I disappointed in the end and sadly have deleted the app to make room for something new. I hope to see another Device 6 in the future.

Artistic and escapist

This isnt so much of a game as a story you follow, and theres a little bit of figuring out what to do, but mostly youre an observer in this. I liked it and found it to be a pretty pleasant escape, and it has nice music. Simogo gets full marks from me for doing something unusual. There are so many games out there that are the same old thing, and its really nice to see someone trying to be artistic and do something unique.

Hmmm weird

Waste of money unless you like reading about nothing.

Absolutely beautiful

This is not a traditional puzzle solving "game", not even close. When you "play" Sailors dream you explore islands, cottages, ruins, etc. just like in a dream. Gradually, and slowly, one can put together the tale of a girl, a woman, and a man. It will take time, and it cannot be rushed. Haunting music, beautiful art, original folk songs accompany the experience. It is not a game, nor is a book or a role-playing adventure. Just a great experience, something completely new that cannot be easily labelled or categorized. Well worth the cost.

Pretty!

The art styles fantastic, but the game itself wasnt quite what I was looking for when I downloaded it. It would be great if the soundtrack (the days of the week songs especially) was available!

Boring

Really boring
